The port and holiday resort of Mallorca Alcudia,
lies on the north east coast of Mallorca at the western end of the magnificent
Bay of Alcudia. Generally, transfer time for the 52km journey from the
island's main airport in Palma.
The resort itself is spread either side of the busy northern coast road,
and really lacks a centre or focal point.
The warm shallow waters of Mallorca Alcudia Bay make this resort very
popular with families with young children. The beach is without doubt
a major attraction to this resort with almost 8km of fine, clean sand
with a wide variety of water sport and other facilities available to suit
all tastes.
Mallorca Alcudia has a number of attractions to suit an active family,
which include a water park and go-kart track, as well as the usual array
of bars, shops and restaurants.
In addition to the standard "see Majorca in a day" type trips
run by most of the major tour operators, a good selection of 1/2 day boat
trips runs most days from the main port area, including lunch, and takes
you up the coast to a secluded beach at the tip of Formentor. The Old
Town of Alcudia is 1 mile away inland and is certainly worth a mention,
and worth a visit, with parts of the town dating back to around 1300.
